ISLAMABAD: Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said the federal government would not rule alone on recognizing the Taliban government.
While briefing the media in Islamabad after the federal cabinet meeting, Fawad Chaudhry said the government was consulting with regional countries on the issue of Afghanistan. “We are also in touch with friendly countries as well as different groups in Afghanistan on the Afghan issue,” he said.
He said that the Pakistani government had apprised former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani that he could not rule alone. “Afghanistan has changed, but there has been no incident of bloodshed,” he said.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the government also fulfilled its promise to introduce uniform education system. The government had decided that Sirat un Nabi (SAWW) would be taught to the ninth and tenth grade students, he maintained.
He said that the Ministry of Science and Technology had instructed the Election Commission officials to inspect the electronic voting machine. He also said the structure of sports will be improved as the government will formulate a new policy on sports.
