Decision about setting up cattle markets in Sindh not taken yet: Saeed Ghani

KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Monday said that the government had not yet taken any decision about setting up cattle markets on Karachi Superhighway and other cities of the province.
Earlier, local government department through a notification had requested the government to ban establishment of animal markets in the province viewing rising number of coronavirus cases.
Talking to Samaa TV, Saeed Ghani said that no decision had been taken about the special animal markets which are set up before Eid ul Adha, while the markets which continue throughout the year have been banned because of their non-compliance with the SoPs.

He said the government had empathy with the traders and sacrifices of citizens. He said they were considering allowing establishment of cattle markets on Karachi Superhighway and other cities.
The Sindh local government ministry has been directed to devise strategy and SoPs for animal markets.
