Dar-ul-Sukoon in-charge Sister Ruth Lewis dies of COVID-19

KARACHI: In-charge of Dar-ul-Sakoon, Sister Ruth Lewis died of coronavirus on Tuesday. The news was disclosed by the Sindh government spokesperson, Senator Murtaza Wahab in a tweet.
Murtaza Wahab paid his respects to Ruth Lewis. He said she was the in-charge of the charity organization which is home for the mentally-challenged and differently-abled children and adults alike.
“Sister Ruth Lewis who had been running Dar ul Sukoon for many years has unfortunately passed away due to COVID-19. Her selfless contributions to our society will always be remembered and cherished,” he added.
Dar ul Sukun also shared the news on its official Facebook page as well expressing grief over demise of its in-charge.
“Ruth Lewis has worked for and loved the Special Children of Dar ul Sukun from the day it was founded 51 years ago. All our Children Nuns and Staff are heartbroken, as we have lost a huge part of us. Please pray for the Children to whom she has been a mother, for the nuns for whom she was a sister and a true inspiration and for all the Staff whom love her and will each day try to walk in her foot steps,” said the statement shared on Dar ul Sukun’s Facebook page.
