Daharki accident: Initial report reveals track’s joint was broken
ISLAMABAD: Preliminary report of the Daharki train accident has revealed that the joint of the track, which was welded temporarily, was found broken.
Train operation has been restored from the up track following completion of rescue operation at the site of train accident in Ghotki.
Spokesperson of Ministry of Railways in a tweet said Bahauddin Zakariya Express had been operated from the up track. “Work on the down track is continuing and it will also soon be restored,” he said.
Earlier, media wing of armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said that it had established a relief camp at the incident site.
“Cooked meal being provided to victims of train Incident, while army doctors and paramedics are providing first aid and necessary emergency medical care,” said the ISPR.
Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz had on Monday bashed the ruling government for not accepting its criminal negligence and incompetence after eight big train accidents.
“How tyrant and senseless people are ruling Pakistan who are not ready to accept their criminal negligence and incompetence even after eight big train mishaps within three years? My prayers and best wishes are with all the people who lost their loved ones in these accidents. May Allah (SWT) forgive them all. Amen,” Maryam Nawaz had written in a tweet.
She had given this statement after the Daharki train accident in which 62 people lost their lives and more than 100 others were injured.
