Pakistani cyclist Samar Khan has spoken up about media’s discrimination against athletes.

In a video statement, without naming the channel, its host and social media influencer, Samar Khan said that she along with other athletes were treated by a TV channel’s management like animals while those who had huge fan following on social media were treated with respect and provided top-notch facilities.

She said the interviewer did not even know her name let alone her profession. She said the other guest was introduced properly while when it came to her turn the interviewer knew nothing about her except that “she rides bicycle across the country”.

“Actually your sports is new and not common so, you can tell your journey on the show, let’s move on….,” the TV host said. To which, she asked that person to properly introduce her. However, the interviewer asked Samar Khan to do it herself or she could leave. She said she dropped the mic and left the programme right away.

The cyclist said that it was nothing new as she and other athletes had faced it earlier also.
