CTD issues ‘threat alert’ on terrorist’s plot to kill Imran Khan

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a threat alert regarding a plot hatched by terrorists for assassination of former Prime Minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan.
Sources told that the terrorists had hired an Afghan assassin who could carry out a possible attack.
In recent days, PTI leaders have raised concerns that a target killer has been hired to assassinate the former prime minister.
The text of the said threat alert has been shared on various forums, according to which an Afghan assassin has been given the responsibility to target Imran Khan while the assassin had handed over the responsibility to others. All concerned agencies have been directed to take all possible measures for the security of the former Prime Minister in the wake of the threat alert.
A senior Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officer confirmed that the CTD had issued a threat alert on June 18.
The threat alert states that it should be kept secret and not leaked on social media.
Earlier, PTI leader Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan tweeted that there are reports that a terrorist has been given the responsibility to target Imran Khan, while a PTI worker said that the killer was from Islamabad and Rawalpindi. He has also acquired a house in the Twin Cities.
