CTD claims to arrest eight terrorists in intelligence-based operation
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have arrested eight terrorists while conducting an intelligence-based operation in districts of Punjab.
According to statement issued by CTD, four terrorists, Mushtaq, Samiullah, Adil Jamal and Usama of a banned outfit were arrested during an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Lahore
The CTD also arrested a man Mamshali Khan in Hafizabad as he was collecting donation for illegal purpose.
CTD also recovered donation receipts, carbon paper and 9250 rupees cash from his possession.
In August, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan claimed to have killed at least seven members of banned outfit during raid in the Kohar Dam area of Loralai district.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the law enforcement agency carried out a raid over the presence of militants. During the raid, seven terrorist were killed while three fled the scene, taking an advantage of night.
Sources confirmed that the militants belonged to outlawed Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF). The CTD Balochistan spokesman further told media that arms and ammunition had been seized during the raid.
Pakistani and Afghan currency were also recovered from the spot, the spokesperson added.
Attacks on Chinese nationals in Balochistan :
A suicide bombing in the southern port city of Gwadar killed two boys while several others including a Chinese national remained injured when a vehicle carrying Chinese nationals was targeted.
The outlawed Balochistan Liberation army (BLA) later claimed the responsibility of attack. The BLA identified the suicide attacker as Sarbland Baloch alias Umer Jan.
Among the deceased children were 10-year-old Salman and 11-year-old Salman Haider, according to Dawn’s report.
Responding to the incident, the Chinese government urged Islamabad to take more practical steps to ensure protection to its nationals working in Pakistan.
Earlier, the BLA had claimed the responsibility of twin attacks in Quetta, killing two cops and injuring at least two dozen people.
