CTD arrests two target killers of banned outfit in Karachi’s Korangi area

KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police has arrested two suspected target killers of a banned organization in Korangi area of Karachi.

On a tip-off, the CTD Sindh Police raided a place near Bagh e Korangi on Korangi Road and arrested two members of Sipah e Muhammed Zainabiyyun Brigade (Agha Hasan Group). The alleged terrorists have been identified as Karrar Hussain alias Pathan and Kamran Hayder alias Kami. Police have recovered a 30 bore pistol, a 9mm pistol and nine rounds from their possession.

The CTD said that they were involved in sectarian target killing in Karachi.

Karrar Hussain admitted to killing eight people, while Kamran Hayder admitted to his involvement in murder of 11 people. During interrogation, Kamran also made startling revelations about killing of Jamia Binoria Town’s Sheikh ul Hadees Maulana Yousaf Ludhianvi, Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai and Sipah e Sahaba’s local key leader Mufti Mehmood in Sher Shah area.

The suspects have reportedly got training from Iran, in which they learnt to operate weapons, explosive materials, suicide jackets and anti-aircraft guns. Further interrogation is being carried out from the suspects.
