KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Investigation Sindh carried out a raid in SITE Industrial Area and arrested a key member of Lyari Gang War, Asif alias Twenty Twenty.
In-charge CTD Chaudhry Safdar said the arrested culprit was nephew of another key LGW member, Ustad Taju. He said the suspect admitted to his involvement in 12 target killing incidents. He also admitted to his involvement in the incidents of attempted murders and opening indiscriminate fire on opposition groups. He used to run a gambling den as well.

Chaudhry Safdar said Twenty Twenty murdered Amjad Heroini in Naya Abad in 2010, a Muttahida Qaumi Movement activist in Usmanabad in 2011, an MQM worker at Kharadar’s Gol Baghecha in 2011-12, an opponent in Agra Taj in 2011-12, Saeed Siraiki in Ghas Mandi area in 2012-13, an MQM worker Iqbal Kana at KMC Water Pump, Usmanabad in 2012, Maqsood Gujarati in Kala Board in 2013 and killed one person in indiscriminate firing at Machli Market, Baghdadi, in 2012-13.
Safdar said the suspect had fled Dubai following Grand Lyari Operation. He recently returned and was arrested on a tip-off.
The CTD In-charge said the arrested suspect was still in contact with Ustad Taju, who wanted to reorganize his group by returning to Lyari.
