Crackdown against professional beggars in Peshawar as section 144 enacted

After the orders given by the provincial government, a crackdown has been launched against professional beggars under the supervision of Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud said that local people especially women do face extreme troubles because of professional beggars. And nonlocal resident beggars are also involved in theft and many different crimes.
Riaz Khan Mehsud further requested the citizens that instead of giving money to the professional beggars, they should report these beggars to their nearest police station so prompt action can be taken.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud mentioned that section 144 has been enacted against professional beggars and strict action will be taken against the offenders under section 188. The orders have been given to the local police to remain alert against this mafia.
Meanwhile, begging in the Nowshera district has also been banned by Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Mir Raza Ozgan under section 144.
Earlier in September, a 12-year-old beggar jumps into drain Nullah during an overnight Punjab police operation against beggars in Lahore.
