Religious preachers and clerics have been asked to promote the use of the anti-coronavirus vaccines among people during the sermons of Friday prayers.
Pakistan Ulema Council has appealed to the nation to strictly follow precautions and SOPs following the third wave of the coronavirus in the country. “During the Friday prayers, the use of coronavirus vaccine and implementation of coronavirus SOPs will be promoted,” the PCU writes in a joint statement issued by several scholar on Thursday.
“Islamic Shariah obliges us to be cautious (during a pandemic),” the statement says.
Pakistan is alarmingly facing the third wave of the coronavirus and it has so far reported 678,165 confirmed cases and 14,613 deaths during the pandemic.
