COVID-19 spike: 5,139 new cases, 100 more deaths reported
Pakistan has reported 5,139 new positive cases of COVID-19 with 100 new deaths in the past 24 hours, according to National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
The country has reported over 5,000 cases for the third consecutive day. Total 49,069 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours with the positivity rate of 10.5%.
Punjab has reported 2,628 cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (1,190), Islamabad (729), Sindh (314), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (191), Balochistan (81) and Gilgit-Baltistan (06).
Moreover, there are total 73,078 active cases in the country with 1,772 new recoveries.
Pakistan is alarmingly facing the third wave of the coronavirus and it has so far reported 715,968 confirmed cases and 15,329 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
