KARACHI: A retired cardiologist doctor suffering from cronoavirus disease has reportedly died after being denied treatment at public and private hospitals in Karachi.
Wife of Dr Furqan ul Haq said no hospital was taking him for they said they had no bed left at intensive care unit. He died of shortness of breath, one of the major symptoms of coronavirus, she said.

He was taken to the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) and even to the private hospital in Azizabad where he would work, she said. The wife said they had no bed available for him.
The doctor, who tested positive with her wife one week before, used to work for Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases and two private clinics.
His wife said Furqan was in self-isolation at his house in Gulshan e Iqbal. His health condition grew worse on Saturday night so they took him to three hospitals where he was denied any treatment. An ambulance service had denied to take him before confirmation of availability of bed at hospital, she maintained.
