ISLAMABAD: With 6,604 new coronavirus cases, Pakistan stands at number two around the globe only behind Russia (7,889 new cases) on Saturday, which is a very alarming situation for its citizens as the government has so far been claiming that ratio of COVID-19 cases in Pakistan was lower than most of the other countries.
In new deaths, Pakistan is ranked third worldwide with 153 fatalities, only eight less than Russia (161), as per worldometer.info. While in the list of ‘active cases’, Pakistan is currently ranked at fifth position with 104, 780 cases, with 3,515 in critical condition.

The total COVID-19 cases in Pakistan include 64,216 in Punjab, 65,163 in Sindh, 20,790 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9,162 in Balochistan, 10,279 in Islamabad, 1,253 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 803 in Azad Kashmir.
The death toll from the virus stands at 3,382 with 153 deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours. 31,681 Corona tests were carried out during this period.
63,504 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the country.
