PESHAWAR: A doctor on Tuesday passed away after contracting coronavirus, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah has also contracted the viral infection.
Former Deputy Medical Superintendent King Abdullah Teaching Hospital Mansehra Dr Bashir was suffering from the disease for last many days and hence hospitalized. The Provincial Doctors’ Association said that his services would always be remembered in the medical sector.
The number of doctors’ fatalities from covid-19 has climbed to 21 across the province and so far no approved package has been provided to any of the doctors.
On the flip side, Imtiaz Shah’s test has come positive and he has quarantined himself at home for 14 days.
After visiting Chitral recently, his health deteriorated, said the secretary health. He said that he would do office work from home.
