India is the country with second highest numbers of cases related to Coronavirus disease after the United States of America. Delhi, the capital city of India, has reported its most deaths during the month of November.

According to BBC news article : “The death toll has overwhelmed the Indian capital’s crematoriums, where many families say goodbye to their loved ones in ancient rituals.”

Delhi has even reported more than 100 deaths on some days while there are rumors of several unreported deaths across the city. Some also believe that the city’s pollution and cold weather have also intensified the situation.

“People must understand that Covid is not going to end suddenly,” said Dr. Sandeep Budhiraja who is a medical director at Max Healthcare group, while talking to BBC India. He further added,” It is most crucial that people must understand that it is their own behaviour which will determine how the disease goes in the next few weeks or next few months.”

India has been facing multiple crisis since the start of the pandemic like problems faced by emigrant workers because of the countrywide lockdown, growing communal tensions between Hindus and Muslims, economic recession and the ongoing farmers protest in Delhi.
