COVID-19: 71 killed, over 4,780 infected in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases in the country has reached to 4,788 and death toll to 71 on Saturday.
These include 2,336 cases in Punjab, 1,214 in Sindh, 656 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 220 in Balochistan, 215 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 113 in Islamabad Capital Territory and 34 in Azad Kashmir.
While, 762 people have so far recovered from the virus across the country and 50 people are in critical condition.
Five new deaths and 190 infection cases were reported in last 24 hours.
Addressing a news conference at Governor House in Quetta on Apr 9, Prime Minister Imran Khan had called upon the nation to join hands with the government in war against coronavirus as it was the issue of entire country.
Imran Khan had said his visit to Balochistan was aimed at ascertaining the grievances and problems being faced by the masses of the most backward and poor people in the province.
The prime minister had maintained that he came here to extend cooperation to the Balochistan government in providing maximum relief during the lockdown.
He had said the federal government would provide financial assistance to more than one hundred million lock down stricken people across the country.
