Court extends Shahnawaz Amir’s physical remand for 3-day in Sarah Inam murder case

A local court in Islamabad on Monday extended the physical remand of prime suspect Shahnawaz Amir, who brutally killed his wife Sarah Inam with a dumbbell at Islamabad’s farm house, for three more days.

The police produced Shahnawaz Amir in the court of senior Civil Judge Aamir Aziz, during which the investigating officer told the court that it is important to recover the passport of the deceased.

“Police have to recover the passport of Sarah Inam,” the investigation officer said.

He said that the passport is “major evidence” as it would show Sarah’s travel history.

The judge remarked that the investigation should not spoil the case.

Later, the court extended the interim bail of Shahnawaz Amir’s mother till October 7 and approved the physical remand of the accused for another 3 days.

The court adjourned the hearing till Friday on the request of the lawyer of the Sarah’s family.

Who was Sarah Inam?

The 37-year-old Sarah Inam belonged to a well-rounded background with a strong professional experience in the Gulf region, Pakistan, and Canada.

Sarah was born in Libya and went to school in Libya and Islamabad.

Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Economics and Business from the University of Waterloo in Canada. She then received her Master’s degree from the same university.

She had also done internships at the University of Waterloo and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

Inam started her career as a junior economist at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Later, she moved to Abu Dhabi and worked for Deloitte as a public policy consultant for four years.

She also worked with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge.

The case:
