 Court awards death penalty to rapist of minor girl

HANGU: A local court of Hangu on Friday sentenced a man to death for raping a minor girl in the district.

The man had physically abused the girl, Hina Bibi. The court of Additional Session Judge-III announced the verdict after DNA of the condemned person, Ismail, matched with the samples collected from the site of the incident. The court has also charged him fine worth Rs1 million and sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment.

Madiha Bibi, mother of the victim, had filed the case against the suspect.

The court announced the capital punishment verdict under section 376.
