Court acquits Uzair Baloch in murder case

KARACHI: The leader of banned Peoples Aman Committee, Uzair Jan Baloch has been acquitted in a murder case in a decision taken by a session court on Tuesday.
Uzair Baloch, Taj Mohammad, alias Tajoo, Mohammad Yousuf Baloch, Zafar Baloch, Shahid Rehman, Noor Mohammad, alias Baba Ladla, Mohammad Shahid and Habib Jan Baloch were charged with kidnapping and murdering a man named Noshad in March 2012.
However, only Baloch along with his alleged accomplice, Shahid had been charged in person and arrested while the others had remained indicted in absentia.
A case was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Kalri police station.
According to media reports, The additional district and sessions judge of District South, who conducted the trial inside the Central Prison, approved the acquittal applications filed by the two accused due to lack of evidence.
Almost a week before on January 7, Uzair Baloch had been freed from different charges as the court approved his acquittal.
