Court acquits Uzair Baloch in 3 cases
KARACHI: The infamous gangster from Lyari, Uzair Baloch has been acquitted in three different cases by a local court in Karachi as prosecution failed to provide substantial evidence.
Uzair remained an accused in the three cases related to violence, attempt to murder, and attacking police officers. The court accepted the application moved by the accused seeking acquittals in different cases. However, he has also been accused of killing 198 people as a leader of Lyari gang war.
The criminal cases were registered against the acquitted person at police stations in Kalakot and Chakiwara area of Karachi.
The court declared that the prosecution had failed to provide enough evidence against the primary accused before announcing his acquittal.
After being arrested in 2016, Uzair’s custody was handed over to military over his alleged involvement in espionage, later on he was again transferred into police’s custody.
