Coronavirus: Patients at Lahore’s Expo Hospital protest against poor management
Coronavirus patients came out in protest at the Expo Field Hospital in Lahore, complaining about poor management by the hospital.
They believed the services given at the hospital were insufficient and not up to the minimum standards of health.
Hospital washrooms are very filthy and a patient said they don’t even have soap let alone sanitiser.
Another complained that patients were either old or poor at the food they received. “We have protested several times to the government but they have not even addressed our complaints,” he said.
The patients have requested that if they can’t be cared for the government let them go home. It is easier to quarantine at home than live here, they said, adding that staying in these conditions would never bring them out of the illness.
Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar had previously taken note of the hospital due to similar concerns, but no improvements have been made yet.
