 Corona’s momentum in Karachi began to wane

Karachi: Rate of positive cases of corona has come down from 40% to 27%. 

According to data released by the Sindh Health Department, rate of positive cases in Karachi in the last 24 hours was 27.92%. 

Health department sources said that 2469 cases were reported in Sindh in the last 24 hours, out of which 1652 cases were from Karachi. 

In the last 24 hours, 20 patients have died in Sindh, 440 patients are being treated in different hospitals, out of which 391 patients are in critical condition and 26 patients are being treated on ventilator. 

So far only 500 cases have been confirmed in Karachi after genome sequencing.

Health experts said, most of the cases reported on a daily basis are from Omicron variant of Corona virus, with the wave expected to reach its peak by mid-February.  Health experts have called for citizens to be vaccinated on an urgent basis.
