Coronavirus positive rate exceeds 9% in Pakistan
Pakistan has reported 2,885 new cases of the Coronavirus with 89 new deaths in the past 24 hours. Due to the recent development in the shape of the second wave of the novel virus, the country’s positivity rate has surpassed 9% according to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).
There are total 420,294 confirmed cases out of which more than 40 thousands are active while around 2400 patients are in critical condition across the country. From last few weeks Pakistan has witnessed a surge in Covid-19 related infections.
On provincial level Sindh has the most number of cases reported with 186,212 leaving behind, 124,191 cases in Punjab, 50,078 in KPK, 33,061 in Islamabad, 17,501 in Balochistan and around 12,000 cases in Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan combined.
Authorities have warned people to follow the rules and SOPs strictly while gradually taking measures to straighten the Covid-19 curve again.
