Corona-infected T cells present in the body provide immunity for 6 months: report
A new study on the coronavirus has found that T cells in the body provide immunity for up to six months after being infected with the virus.
The study was conducted by experts from British institutions including the University of Birmingham, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), the Manchester Clinical Research Facility and Public Health England.
100 people were observed in the new study, including 23 male and 77 female health workers, who suffered from corona in March and April this year.
According to the research, the level of T cells was present for 6 months after they were infected with the virus.
T cells are a type of white blood cell in the human body that is capable of recognizing infected cells and are an integral part of the immune system.
According to the report, T cells are produced in the body of a patient suffering from corona under the immune system and these cells attack the infected cells to prevent it from spreading further instead of attacking the virus.
It should be noted that an earlier study in Sweden had revealed that people who have strong immunity in the body cannot suffer from corona and therefore they do not even need an antibody test.
