Cop dead in Peshawar grenade attack
PESHAWAR: A policeman was killed and two other people wounded in a hand grenade attack in Karkhano Market near Malik Taj Market on Friday in Peshawar. The injured included a passerby and a police official.
According to the details shared by Rescue 1122, three people were injured in the attack and later one of them, the policeman Ameen, passed away. They were brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex for medical assistance.
A suspect threw the bomb on police mobile van while police and assistant commissioner were returning after arresting some shopkeepers for violating the coronavirus standard operating procedures.
Police have launched a search operation against the culprits in the market area.
Eighty-six more deaths due to Coronavirus and 4,537 new positive cases of the infection have been reported in Pakistan during the last 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, 58,203 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained seven point seven nine percent. The death toll due to pandemic in the country has reached 23,293.
