Confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan soar to 275,225

ISLAMABAD: The number of recoveries from Covid-19 continue to increase across the country with 242,436 patients so far recovered from the disease.
According to the latest statistics, 936 new coronavirus cases were reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 275,225.
These include 118824 in Sindh, 92279 in Punjab, 33510 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11624 in Balochistan, 14938 in Islamabad, 2010 Gilgit-Baltistan and 2040 in Azad Kashmir.

While, 23 patients died of the virus during the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 5865.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Minority Affairs, Wazirzada has lauded the minorities for extending cooperation with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government during emergency situation of COVID-19.
During a meeting with Bishop Churches of Pakistan, Humphrey Sarfaraz Peters in Peshawar, he said minority communities showed utmost responsibility during COVID-19 emergency.
He said that in response to coronavirus, minorities closed their places of worship including churches, Gurdawaras, temples on the request of the government and strictly implemented standard operating procedures (SOPs) during their religious festivals.
Wazirzada expressed hope that minorities would continue to play their role in protecting their community from the deadly virus by implementing SOPs until the COVID-19 completely eradicated.
