Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan soar to 1938

ISLAMABAD: The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan has reached to 1,938 on Wednesday.

These include 676 in Punjab, 676 in Sindh, 221 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 153 Balochistan, 148 Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad 58 and six in Azad Kashmir.   

Fifty-eight people have so far recovered from the disease. 12 are critical while the number of deaths from the virus stands at 26.

The death toll from Coronavirus around the world has reached to over 40000 and 850,000 people recorded with infections.

According to John Hopkins University, the death toll in the US is now over 3,600 higher than China and over181,000 people have been infected.

In Spain, one of the worst hit countries, recorded 849 deaths in the last 24 hours the highest number of fatalities in a single day.

In Italy, death toll reached to 12,428.

France has recorded 499 new deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,523.
