Commonwealth Games 2022: Two Pakistani athletes directly qualify for final

Two Pakistani athletes, Arshad Nadeem and Jamshed Ali, will directly play the finals of their respective events after organisers waived the qualifying round due to a short number of entries in the commonwealth games.
Pakistan Athletics Team Manager in commonwealth games, Sadaf Siddiqui has confirmed that the two players will now play the final directly instead of the qualifiers.
Earlier, Jamshed Ali was scheduled to play the shotput qualifiers on August 3 and Arshad Nadeem on August 5 for the javelin throw qualifiers, but now Jamshed will play the final of his event on August 5 and Arshad Nadeem on August 7.
Pakistan’s top javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has also confirmed that he won’t be playing the qualifier and will appear for the final directly on August 7.
According to sources, the organisers waived the qualifying round due to a short number of entries in the commonwealth games.
