Cockpit voice recorder of PIA Airbus retrieved from crash site

After an extensive search by the PIA teams, the cockpit voice recorder of the crashed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Airbus 320 was found out from the debris.

The voice recorder was forwarded for investigation to the AAIB. Abdullah Hafiz the voice recorder would be a key component of the investigation, according to PIA spokesperson. He said it would take several weeks for the voice recorder to be decoded.

Following the accident that killed 97 passengers on board, the plane’s black box was retrieved and handed over to the investigating team for speedy investigation. Efforts to retrieve the voice recorder continued, however.
