COAS honors Pakistan soldier’s sacrifices and their bravery
General Qamar Bajwa, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), remarked on Monday that the officers and soldiers of the Pakistani Armed Forces are our true heroes.
“Pakistan owes its peace and stability to the selfless devotion and sacrifices of its martyrs,” says Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, during the investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) told in a statement on Tuesday.
While speaking at a ceremony at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said this to award Armed Forces Personnel who demonstrated professional skills and bravery during various security operations across the country and added that there is no cause nobler than laying one’s life for the defense of the motherland. Sacrifices of our martyrs won’t go waste, the ISPR statement said.
According to the statement, Sitara-i-Imtiaz was given to 47 officers, while Tamgha-i-Basalat was given to six officers, seven junior commissioned officers (JCOs), and 12 troops.
Families of the Martyrs and senior army officers all attended the ceremony, it said.
The families received medals awarded to the martyrs in the ceremony.
