Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javeed Bajwa met with United States Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad and US Commander Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan, General Austin Scott Miller in Rawalpindi. The US officials were on a visit to Pakistan.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has appreciated the role of Resolute Support Mission for peace and stability in Afghanistan and assured that Pakistan will continue to play its positive role for peace and stability in the region, Radio Pakistan reported.
According to ISPR, the issues of regional security including matters of mutual interest were discussed especially in the context of ongoing Intra-Afghan negotiations (Afghan Peace Process).
The Visiting dignitary also appreciated Pakistan for its role in facilitating the peace process.
Last month on November 19, Prime Minister Imran Khan also visited Afghanistan and pledged his support for restoration of peace in the region most affected by terrorism since the start of the 21st century.
