Coalition Govt decides to stop PTI’s Islamabad Long March
A meeting of the political committee was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in which Coalition Government has decided to stop the Islamabad long march of PTI.
It was decided at the meeting that the long march of PTI would be stopped and no compromise would be made on the writ of the state while all illegal activities would be stopped too.
Safety and security of the people would be ensured, action would be taken against those who disturbed law and order, and law would be enacted on any kind of violence or provocation, Government decided.
The decisions of the Supreme Court regarding the sit-in would be implemented and all avenues would be kept open for the public interest.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister said that such tactics [Long Marhc] are tantamount to destroying the economy.
Notably, PTI chairman Imran Khan has announced a march towards Islamabad on May 25, after which crackdown by police against PTI leaders has started in different cities of Punjab.
PTI sources claimed that police have so far arrested 73 workers from Lahore.
