LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has announced a Rs7 billion Ramazan Package for giving relief to individuals during Ramadan.

Presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee, the CM said 313 Ramazan markets will be set up across the province where a 10-kilogram wheat flour sack will be available at Rs300. The Punjab government will give around Rs3.5 billion endowment for this purpose, he added.

Reasonable price shops will likewise be set up to provide commodities, fruits and vegetables at similar rates as in 2018. Similarly, gram flour (besan), dates, dried chickpeas, lentils (chana daal) and different other things will be available at discounted rates, he said. Sugar will be given at Rs60 per kg and ghee, chicken and eggs will be offered for Rs10 to Rs15 less than the market price.

The chief minister directed that the Ramadan marketplaces should be begun from Sha’aban 25.
