CM Elahi will dissolve assembly after vote of confidence: Imran Khan

Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan said he is “confident” that Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi will dissolve the provincial assembly soon after taking a vote of confidence.
Imran Khan’s statement came amid growing deliberations among PTI lawmakers that the party should seriously consider its ally PML-Q’s advice, apparently coming from the establishment, to delay dissolution of the provincial assemblies.
The court will resume hearing the case on January 11 and Imran Khan said Parvez Elahi would take the vote of confidence before it.
Talking to journalists at his residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park, Khan said that after the dissolution of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies ruling elite will be forced to hold general elections.
Imran predicted that he sees general elections taking place in either March or April.
While refuting the previous claims that he was not in contact with the establishment “for now”, Khan took U-turn that he is in ‘touch’ with the new military leadership.
Referring to his demand for snap polls, Imran Khan revealed that the PDM-led government wanted to move the elections after 2023.
“It is not possible to delay the general elections in the current economic situation,” he said.
