Clerics not to solemnise nikah where music is played

Irked by loud music being played at wedding ceremonies and vulgar dances, clerics in district Khyber have announced not to solemnize nikah where loud music was played or vulgur dance was held.

“We will not solemnize nikah of the bride or groom whose wedding ceremony will hold dance program of transgenders or where music will be played,” the clerics of three different schools of thought — Barelvi, Deoband (Jamiat Ulema e Islam-F) and Toheed Ashaat o Sunnah — announced this adopting a resolution in this regard at Mehfil e Qirrat in Jamrood area.

They jointly announced to boycott any such marriage. They also requested people to hold events of recitation of Quran and Hamd instead of non-Sharia things at marriages.
