National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has announced that citizens aged 80 and above will be vaccinated at home. The facility will available in a few days.
Moreover, the government has already begun vaccine registration for citizens older than 50 years. Those who are eligible can register themselves by sending their CNIC number to 1166 via SMS. Meanwhile, a private facility is now also available in major cities.
However, according to Bloomberg, it will take Pakistan a decade to vaccinate 75% of its population.
Pakistan has reported 3,953 new positive cases of coronavirus with 103 new deaths in the past 24 hours.
The country is alarmingly facing the third wave of the coronavirus and it has so far reported 696,184 confirmed cases and 14,924 deaths during the pandemic.
