KARACHI: A unique petition has been filed in the Sindh High Court in which a citizen sought permission to consume up to 10 grams of weed. The court, expressing anger, dismissed the petition as inadmissible.
According to details, the citizen filed a petition in the Sindh High Court regarding the use of cannabis, in which he said that permission should be given to use up to 10 grams of cannabis. The Federal Ministry of Law and others were made parties in the petition.
On which the Sindh High Court expressed anger over the petitioner, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said that what kind of petition have you brought, do you want everyone in the country to start consuming hashish? Tell me how much you should be fined.
Petitioner Ghulam Asgharsai explained that he tried to file the petition for the public interest.
Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar said that if you are a copycat, you can go to other countries, it is not allowed here, why do you bring such petitions in the court?
The petitioner said that allowing cannabis to be consumed would increase the income of the country and generate revenue, to which Justice Muhammad Ali said that there should be no such revenue.
