‘Churails’ reinstated on Zee5 for Pakistani viewers
Indian streaming channel Zee5 has lifted the ban on showing the web series “Churails” in Pakistan.
In his tweets, Asim Abbasi, the director of this web series, wrote about the lifting of the ban on the web series “Churails” in Pakistan.
A video clip of the web series, which has been running since August, went viral on Twitter and was removed for Pakistani users due to concerns.
Senior actress Hina Khawaja Hayat, who played the role of Sherry in the viral clip, is saying some controversial words about what she had to do to get a job.
A large number of social media users denounced the video as obscene, while many believed that women who worked with these words often faced the worst possible conditions.
Asim wrote in his tweet, “Zee5’s spokesperson said that our goal is always to create content that will appeal to viewers all over the world. The witch has been extraordinarily successful for us and is being admired and loved all over the world. ”
Two days ago, Asim Abbasi, the director of Churails, had said that the installments of his web series have been deleted in Pakistan. Surprisingly, the web series that is being praised all over the world is not being shown in its own country.
He described the move as detrimental not only to filmmakers, actors, and artists but also to creatives who rely on platforms such as women, the enlightened class, and streaming sites for financial well-being.
Following the ban, other users on social media, including showbiz personalities, called the move a restriction on freedom of expression.
