BEIJING: China has announced to lift the lockdown in Wuhan, the city at the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic, on April 8.
Provincial authorities announced that lockdown measures will be lifted on Wednesday (today) in other cities of the Hubei province also.
The new cases in Hubei province have dropped to zero for five consecutive days.

More than 18,000 people have died so far around the world from the COVID-19 outbreak as of today (on Wednesday).
There are currently 422,959 confirmed cases in 197 countries.
The US Senate and White House have reached an agreement on a 2 trillion US dollars economic stimulus bill to alleviate the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
This was stated by White House official Eric Ueland in Washington on Wednesday.
