Children’s Day: We mustn’t forget suffering of children in held Kashmir, says Imran

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday asked the international community to urge India to abide by its obligations on children’s rights, particularly for the children in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“As we celebrate #UniversalChildrensDay this year, we must not forget the suffering of children of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The international community must urge India to abide by its obligations under CRC on child rights, particularly for the children in IOJK,” PM Khan tweeted.
He said today as the world celebrated Universal Children’s Day and 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of Child (CRC), “I wish to reiterate Pakistan’s commitment to the protection of child rights. Let’s work for a better future for our children as we celebrate Children’s Day!”

On Nov 9, Premier Imran Khan had said the entire subcontinent could become prosperous, if the dispute of Kashmir was resolved.
“After coming into power, I discussed with Indian PM Narendra Modi that the biggest issue facing the subcontinent is poverty and we could eradicate it through cordial relations and opening our borders for economic activities,” Imran Khan had said while addressing the opening ceremony of Kartarpur corridor.
He had said if the issue of Kashmir was resolved the whole subcontinent could boost its economy. “We want to get liberation from these issues.” Kashmir issue could be resolved through negotiations, he maintained.
PM Imran had said the conflict of Kashmir had gone far beyond only territorial issue and it had turned into human rights crisis now.
