KARACHI: The Supreme Court has given two weeks to the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC), Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) to submit a report on how to resolve DHA’s water crisis.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed gave this ultimatum on Wednesday during the hearing of water shortage case in Karachi. He condemned the behaviour of discrimination followed in water supply.
“If you are giving water, give it to everyone. What do you think about those who can’t get tankers to their homes?”, he wondered.
According to the CBC, the water shortage was due to the less supply from the KWSB. Although, there are two water lines but only one of them was used to provide water, it added.
Furthermore, if the issue of water deficiency wouldn’t be resolved it will lead to placing the water board staff behind the bars. Said Gulzar Ahmed.
