Cases filed against 89 people who lodged fake FIRs: IG Sindh
KARACHI: On completion of one year of his service as head of Sindh Police, Inspector General Sindh Syed Kaleem Imam on Tuesday said the police of the province was his responsibility and all the officers knew his policy and strategy.
“Sindh Police has controlled many criminal incidents including of sabotage in a short span of time,” Syed Kaleem Imam said while addressing a gathering of senior officers at the IG Office.
He said in one year references were filed against 89 those people who lodged fake FIRs against innocent people, while 36 gangs of car lifters were busted. He also expressed sorrow over casualties of innocent people including Amal as a result of police firing.
IG Kaleem Imam said 12,173 complaints were received at the district police complaint cell and 52.37 percent of the complaints had so far been resolved in one year.
He said the Sindh Police was working on the Safe City Project.
He said he always thought that how would the Sindh department and people in general think about him. He said when he was appointed in the province he faced multiple challenges but he fought against all of them.
“I do not interfere in departmental matters pertaining to my subordinates. I have devolved all authorities to senior officers,” he said.
The IG said that he had posted the senior officers for one year, but they did not pass on the favor to SHOs and relocated them after short time.
