Cases against Zardari politically motivated, says Bilawal
MIRPURKHAS: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Zardari on Wednesday said that all the cases against former president Asif Ali Zardari were politically motivated and nothing more than a joke.
“What kind of buffoonery is it? Stop this joke now. Asif Zardari is being dragged in Islamabad’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) courts,” Bilawal Zardari said while addressing a press conference in Mirpurkhas.
He said they had only one request that there should be justice and justice should not be made fun of. If there was one law then everybody should be accountable in the same way, he maintained.
“They are holding us accountable for the 18th amendment and the NFC award, otherwise former military dictator also received gifts from foreign countries,” he said.
Bilawal said his party had been objecting to date that the case belonged to Sindh and was being trialed in Rawalpindi which was unfair.
He said Zardari was alleged that he did not give money on the gifts he received. He said illegal Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was constituted by doing injustice to his father.
“If we all belong to one Pakistan then when will a JIT be formed against Prime Minister Imran Khan,” he asked.
The PPP chief also asked if Panama scandal was limited to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif only.
