Cases against hoarders to be resolved in 30 days, informant to be given 10 pct reward

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has on Tuesday passed an ordinance against hoarders across the province.

The statute would be applicable on hoarders of protective gears, including surgical gloves and facemasks, medicines, hand sanitisers, wheat flour, vegetables, sugar, tea, rice and pulses.

As per the ordinance, hoarders of the above mentioned articles would be imprisoned to jail for three years. They would be fined 50 percent of the goods found in their possession. An informant would be given 10 percent of that 50 percent goods submitted to the national exchequer. A special magistrate would hold hearing of the cases of hoarders and would be bound to finalise the case in 30 days.
