Cabinet approves 40 pct increment in salaries of public servants

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday unanimously approved 40 percent increment in salaries of public servants.

The report regarding public servants was submitted by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

This may be noted that a day ago while talking to media, Pervez Khattak had said that the talks with public servants of the federal government had reached in its final phase. He had said that all the provincial chief ministers were requested to hold talks with their employees regarding salaries.

Sources said that the federal government had decided to allocate Rs40 billion for increment in salaries of the federal government employees.

They said that the employees who had already got an increment, including employees of the Federal Board of Revenue, National Accountability Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency, were not included. While, the cabinet has directed the provinces to take decision regarding increment in salaries of their employees on their own.
