 Burnt body of transgender found in Lahore

LAHORE: Police on Thursday confirmed that a burnt body of a transgender was found at her house in Asif Town, Lahore.

Police said they were probing the incident but they believed that the 25-year-old, Chunnu, was burnt alive. Cell phone of the victim has been seized by the law enforcers.

The victim transgender’s friend, Sana told police that Chunnu hailed from Mandi Ahmedabad. She said that people would often book her for dance parties. She also confirmed that no fight was ever reported with her friend.

As per Pakistan’s Transgender Association, about 73 transgender had been killed since 2015.
