British rock icons Queen join Queen Elizabeth on new £5 coins

Rockers Queen have become the first ever British band to join Queen Elizabeth II on a commemorative coin. The Royal Mint released the £5 coin to honor the band at the start of series featuring music legends.
The coin’s one side has Her Majesty’s head while the instruments of all four band members, including the piano played by Freddie Mercury was shown on the other side of the coin.
One of the band members and the guitarist of the band Brian May said,
“This is a big ‘who could have imagined it?’ moment for us.”
The coin’s designer Chris Facey said that he wanted to represent the “musical democracy” within the band, in which all four members wrote classic hits.
“Freddie was flamboyant and his camp theatrics are a big part of Queen, but the band are more than just a frontman,” said Facey.
