Suicide attack on Peshawar mosque during Friday prayers kills 30 worshippers, injures over 50
A blast took place at a mosque in Kocha Risaldar area of Peshawar in which 30 people were killed and more than 50 were injured.
According to sources, the blast took place in Kocha Risaldar area of Peshawar shortly before the commencement of prayers inside the mosque due to which several people were injured. A large number of worshipers were present in the mosque at the time of the blast.
Sources said that a heavy contingent of police has reached the spot while the area has been cordoned off.
In addition, rescue teams have started rescue operations, 15 ambulances of Rescue 1122 reached the spot.
Rescue sources said that about 50 injured people were being shifted to hospitals while providing medical aid.
Police said the nature of the blast is being determined.
Most of the injured are critically injured.The number of injured is expected to increase.
Additional medical personnel have been called for red alert in LRH.
