KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari vows to restore the Pakistan Steel Mills workers sacked by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
In a tweet, Bilawal Zardari demanded to sack Imran instead of workers. He said he would not let the government commit economic murder of people.
“The heartless government’s sacked 4500 workers of Pakistan Steel mills. PPP will return each & everyone back to work. The land of this historical industrial asset belongs to the people of Sindh, we will not let the PTI get away with this economic murder. Sack Imran not workers,” he tweeted.
Earlier in June the following year, Minister for Industries and Production Hamad Azhar had said the government had decided to privatize the Pakistan Steel Mills in order to revive and steer it out of losses.
“Fifteen parties have shown their interest in the Pakistan Steel Mills,” he had said while addressing a news conference in Islamabad.
He had clarified that only the core Steel Mills operation would be privatized and not the other land of the entity.
